I just saw your last show on the outdoor channel 11/30/02 at 6 p.m. where you shot the nice 8 pointer with the bow. What I liked was that you actually showed a follow up shot after a 400 yard tracking job. I watch many outdoor tv shows and never have I seen a follow up shot. Thanks for showing this. I love to watch your show. Keep up the good work. Marty Zarli.
Today was the first time I have watched your show on my cable channel. On this show, you spine shot a doe. Thank you for showing it, unlike so many other programs on tv now a days that never show the shot. Keep up the good work. You are a true hunter and sportsman. Bryan
I caught your show the other day where you were in south central Wisconsin. To me, that was a top notch program. I liked the way that you didn't dodge the fact that it wasn't an easy kill. The camera work on your second shot was great. I wish more shows gave that type of reality. Thanks and good luck hunting. Owen
What a great show! This is the first time I've seen you on OLN. I'm glad you stressed the point of not giving up on finding a blood trail right away. This has happened to me personally twice while bowhunting. Both of my bucks were also recovered. It's just like you said "you owe it to yourself, the deer, and every other hunter out there". Enough said. Keep up the good work. I'll be watching future shows. Dale S.
I consider myself a serious hunter down here in Georgia. I just saw your show for the first time on the Outdoor Channel and really enjoyed it. The show on 10/8/02 was the one where you were bowhunting and had to track the deer for 400 yards, and then take an additional shot. I 100% agree with everything you did and I wish more shows would enforce proper game tracking techniques as you did on this show. I see hunters every year, in my hunting club, and on TV that just do not know how to track deer the right way and give up too easily. Granted, there are 100 ways to skin a cat, but there is one way to give a fair chase and find. You did just that. I have a 3 year old son that I am starting to teach about the outdoors as did my dad for me. Your show will be included from now on. Thanks for what you do! Steve Gates
I was watching an episode of Hunting With Joe Bucher where you were bow hunting whitetails. You arrowed the buck, then tracked him for about 300 yards before you found him, and then put him down for good. I was EXTREMELY impressed that you took the time and effort to find this deer. Most hunters would have given up after 50 to 75 yards if they didn't find blood sign. I found five dead deer this past spring in an area where I hunt. One was a nice 7 pointer, and the arrow was still in his rib cage. I have made every effort to locate game that I have downed and have tried as hard as I can to teach this to my two sons. You have to have respect for the animal, the outdoors, and other hunters. Not putting forth a reasonable effort gives the hunting community a bad rap. Keep up the great work! Another great show! I would like to see a spot where there are all those "godzilla rubs" as you called them. It looked to me like you hit that buck a big far back, more toward the middle. I think you being a lefty screwed up your angle. I think if you were a righty it would have hit a bit more toward the leg and the kill zone. However, I am glad that you never gave up and showed the audience what needs to be done in case the shot doesn't pan out. I also think you have got the right format on your shows. You introduce new products, you show what to look for when you hunt and pick out a stand, and then you show a good hunt. I like it. Coach Greg Massoglia, Ashland, WI
As a lifelong hunter who only fishes when I can't hunt, I seldom watch fishing shows. I am a remote clicker. When I see a fishing program, I move on and try to find old movie reruns. However, on Saturday, September 28th, I clicked on your show and found to my utter amazement that you were not fishing, but hunting. Sir, you couldn't have done better if you tried. This was a segment where a nice buck jumped the string and you hit him high in the shoulder. When you approached the camera, obviously tired and beaten from looking for the wounded deer, no self respecting hunter would have blamed you for quitting. But your statements on screen and your committment to the tracking job were exceptional. Your show is the only hunting show that I ever recall showing a hunter who is just plain sick of not finding his trophy. I have to say I sighed a big one when you finally found the bruiser where few people would have ever looked. My hat's off to you. You did the right thing and it was on film for all to see. Thank you so very much for showing that some hunters are conservationists who have ethics as high as any bunny hugger. You were spectacular and I'll keep an eye out for your future hunting segments now. I might even break down and watch one of your fishing shows, too. George Roof.
I've been bow hunting whitetails now for six years and read many books and watched many videos and shows on the subject. The last two weeks I caught your program and for a guy who has had to do his share of tracking, I really appreciated the realness of your show. Not to mention the good you did by stressing the importance of doing whatever it takes to find a hit deer. Your show is not only entertaining, but also educational. Keep it up. Hi, Joe just wanted to say great show. Your show was the first show that showed the taking of a DOE as a animal as worthy as a Buck. It is also the first show I saw that showed hunting a Doe.I believe in proper deer managment. Keep up the great work. Brett U.P., Michigan
Dear Joe Bucher and Friends, Today was the first time I have ever seen your show and I must say it was one of the best I have seen. Twigg Georg
